It is crucial for a consultant to maintain the quality of work and standard while considering the on-time delivery. The client may be happy with on-time delivery of your work initially but compromising the consulting standards may affect the continuous relationship with the client. 

Here are some strategies that will help you balance the efficiency without compromising the quality of work 

Delivering the project in an incremental model

Break down the project into small and manageable tasks and create a prioritized list of deliverables. The incremental delivery will help the consultant to clearly estimate the time requirement and outline the potential risk to the client if the timeline is shortened. It will also help the client to set the expectations of the delivery and give feedback as you go. 

 

Implement time-bound quality checks

It is very important to implement time-bound quality checks as the cost of quality is high towards the end of the project. A checklist of standard quality criteria to be maintained and used in each phase to avoid last-minute issues.

Try leveraging the technology to maximum level in creating the templates, automating repeated tasks, project management and collaboration. This will allow the consultants to focus more on strategic thinking and relationship-building, leading to higher client satisfaction and project impact. 

 

Proper Time and Resource Management

Overcommitting to multiple projects with conflicting deadlines should be avoided as this can lead to burnout and reduced quality of delivery. In case of resource unavailability or scarcity consider outsourcing specific tasks to specialized providers to alleviate the workload.
